Policy Business Partner - (251272)

Hybrid role, National (office flexible/to be agreed). Full time temporary role (37.5 hpw): 6 - 9 months with possible extension. Salary circa £32,000 per annum plus benefits including Health cash plan.

What you’ll do

  • Develop policies that people want to read and that meet the needs of the organisation, regulators, and customers, reporting to the Policy Manager.
  • Apply excellent knowledge of housing and/or support policy and practice; experience in supported housing services or building safety issues is desirable.
  • Work in a national policy team and develop your career within Home Group; manage your own diary with flexibility.
  • Use research and horizon scanning to identify policy improvement areas and work with senior management to ensure policy reflects regulatory and quality frameworks.
  • Support business leaders to implement policy effectively and contribute to delivering first‑class services.
  • Design and run consultation events with customers and stakeholders; disseminate policy changes to the wider organisation.
  • Assess anticipated policy impact to promote equality and diversity.
  • Travel throughout England and occasionally Scotland, including occasional overnight stays (national role).

What you bring

  • Strong writing skills and ability to translate complex policy into accessible content.
  • Experience with policy development, horizon scanning, and alignment with regulatory and quality frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to run consultations and disseminate policy changes.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity as part of policy impact assessment.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a national capacity.

Job details

  • Work pattern: Monday to Friday with flexibility to manage your own diary; could accommodate longer lunch breaks using flexi time.
  • Location: national role; 1–2 days per week in local Home Group office or site visits; remaining time from home.
