The Opportunity

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Cancer Genomics to join our team at the University of Edinburgh, funded by a Medical Research Council. This post is fixed-term (for 36 months) and full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is at Grade UE07: £40,497 to £48,149 per annum, pro-rata if part-time.
Your Skills And Attributes For Success
- PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field.
- Strong coding skills in Python/R and Linux/UNIX, or expertise in structural variant analysis with motivation to upskill computationally.
- Experience in cancer genomics/epigenomics and high-throughput sequencing.
- Proven track record of independent research with at least one first-author paper.
- Enthusiastic about academic growth, including presenting work and supporting junior researchers.
