The post is funded for one year and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the project, including overseeing the research database and preparing reports. You will undertake prediction modelling and epidemiological research using population datasets including statistical analyses of the data. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co‑ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil in epidemiology, biostatistics or big data, along with demonstrable experience of working with population registers and large datasets. With proven statistical knowledge and expertise in statistical analysis (including multivariate analysis and data management) as well as experience in relevant software packages, e.g., SPSS/STATA and R, you will have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.

Reporting to Professor Seena Fazel, the post holder is a member of the Oxford Martin Programme on Decarceration and the Forensic Psychiatry research group at the Department of Psychiatry, working independently to carry out risk prediction modelling and epidemiology related to the criminal justice system, sentencing and recidivism.
