Charles Levick have partnered with a global Energy Trading business, We have been commissioned to find a highly motivated Power Trader as they continue to expand their ever growing team.

As a Senior Power Trader, you will play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s PnL through directional and relative value trading strategies across the European power curve. You’ll bring market insight, fundamental and technical expertise, and a strong risk mindset to an already high-performing desk.

Your role & responsibilities

• Execute forward power trades across the German, French, UK, Dutch and Italian markets.
• Utilizing market data, price signals, and sophisticated trading strategies.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of market conditions, regulatory updates, and macroeconomic factors to drive informed trading decisions.
• Develop and refine proprietary models to identify and exploit profitable opportunities in forward power markets.
• Manage and optimize risk exposure in forward trading, ensuring adherence to the firm’s risk management framework.
• Collaborate with the broader trading and analytics teams to exchange insights and continuously improve trading performance.
• Produce detailed market reports, summarizing trends, trading strategies, and performance metrics.

Must Have

• 5+ years’ experience in trading European Power market
• Demonstrate several years of strong PnL returns (x7 plus)
• Strong understanding of market fundamentals, cross-border flows, and regulatory impacts on forward prices.
• High-level analytical and quantitative skills; ideally proficient in Python or other data tools.
• Commercial mindset, excellent decision-making under pressure, and a strong appetite for market risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
