Location & hours

Location: Regional role working across Barton School, Bradford Beacon School & Armley Grange School. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances).

Salary & benefits

Salary: Up to £65,000 (DOE) plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (Welcome Bonus is payable as one payment of £2,500 after completion of one month and one further payment of £2,500 upon completion of your final probation period. T&C's Apply). Role purpose

Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, guide your practice within an education setting, and fulfill roles and responsibilities with support from your clinical supervisor and site lead. You will hold a psychological caseload and contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils in educational settings.
  • Maintain a multidisciplinary, person-centred approach in collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Develop and deliver training to different cohorts and contribute to service development.
  • Support growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants as part of the enhanced psychological therapy offer.
  • Ensure safeguarding and ethical practice in all activities.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to introduction of relevant Doctorate)
  • Relevant experience in related settings or with related client groups
  • Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working with clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
  • Experience across different systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual levels)
  • Experience using a model of assess, plan, do and review; experience using consultation as a method of service delivery
  • Adequate competence in core areas of psychological practice and HCPC standards
  • Knowledge of client group needs and trauma-informed practice; awareness of neuro-diversity
  • Ability to develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans; ability to develop and deliver training
  • Ability to write coherent clinical records and reports; excellent communication in complex situations
  • Effective IT skills and ability to learn core platforms
  • Ability to work with various professionals to achieve service outcomes
  • Ongoing CPD evidence
  • Ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple demands and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to undertake group induction on commencement
  • Commitment to organisational values and flexible working
  • Ability and willingness to travel on company business
  • Full driving licence and access to a car

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with specific client groups (e.g., neuro-diverse and/or SEMH) and settings (schools or residential care)
  • Experience providing supervision
  • Knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and management
  • Post-qualification training related to role or client group
  • Training in evidence-based interventions/approaches
