Precious Metals Trade Support

We have an exciting opportunity to work with one of our prestigious clients, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, supporting their Precious Metals Trading business line. This is a fast-paced, high-touch role providing operational and administrative support to traders and clients in both physical and financial precious metals markets.

You will play a key role in ensuring smooth trade execution, accurate settlement, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. The role requires close collaboration with Trading, Sales, and Operations teams, with frequent and proactive communication to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trade Execution & Monitoring: Assist traders in executing spot, forward, and derivative trades. Monitor market movements and update pricing tools as needed.
  • Operational Support: Confirm and validate trade details with counterparties. Reconcile positions and resolve discrepancies promptly. Prepare and distribute end-of-day reports for positions and P&L.
  • Settlement & Documentation: Coordinate with clearing houses, custodians, and internal teams for timely settlement. Maintain accurate trade records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Risk & Control: Monitor exposure and assist in hedging activities. Support risk management by ensuring accurate trade capture and reporting.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a point of contact for clients regarding trade status and operational queries.
  • Systems & Process: Utilize trading platforms and internal systems for trade booking and reporting. Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in trade support within precious metals.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and commodity trading.
  • Experience with trade execution, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with trading platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Hybrid Working & Location

This is a permanent full-time position located in London with hybrid working. For this role a valid working permit for the UK is mandatory.

Expectations regarding hybrid working: Our policy aligns to client requirements and varies; most clients require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home. Some clients may require 4 or 5 days in the office, so candidates must be flexible to meet client demands.
