Senior Preconstruction Manager

Salary: 120,000-140,000 + Bonus (Up to 160K+ OTE)

The Opportunity

We’re looking for three exceptional Senior Preconstruction Managers to join a market-leading design & build business delivering complex, design-led environments across London and the South East who are organically going through another growth phase.

These are high-impact positions for experienced professionals who can lead the front end of projects - shaping design, strategy, and commercial outcomes from RIBA Stage 2/3 through to site handover.

You’ll be the face of the business during the bid and preconstruction phase: building relationships, managing cost plans, and steering design and delivery strategy for blue-chip clients and institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preconstruction process on multiple fast-track or complex D&B projects (5m-50m+).
• Manage bid strategy, design coordination, programming, and cost control from concept to contract.
• Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams to produce fully coordinated proposals.
• Present schemes and commercial submissions with confidence and clarity to clients and consultants.
• Challenge and develop design solutions to optimise aesthetics, cost, and buildability.
• Maintain and grow key client relationships – representing the business at the highest level.
• Support and mentor Bid Managers, Designers, and Estimators through the process.

About You

• Proven track record leading preconstruction or design management within D&B or main contracting.
• Deep technical understanding of construction detailing, sequencing, and cost.
• Confident presenter with commercial gravitas and strong client engagement skills.
• Adept at managing multiple bids and deadlines under pressure.
• Highly articulate and comfortable in both boardroom and site environments.
• Forward-thinking, collaborative, and driven to raise standards across every project.
