Pricing Actuary - Contract - Lloyd's of London

Miryco Consultants are working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced actuary to play a key role in developing the pricing function of a dynamic and growing Lloyd’s insurer. This role is primarily focused on pricing but also offers exposure to reserving and capital modelling, providing a well-rounded opportunity for an ambitious actuarial professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain pricing models for both Syndicate and MGA portfolios.
• Ensure pricing models align with Lloyd’s PMD standards and wider regulatory principles.
• Support underwriters with case-by-case pricing for complex or large risks.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance and senior stakeholders to embed actuarial insight across the business.
• Improve data infrastructure and pricing tools, including management information and rate monitoring systems.
• Validate pricing models using historical and scenario-based data.
• Contribute to the reserving and capital modelling processes, helping to embed the capital model in business decision-making.
• Support the business planning process through pricing insights and analysis.
• Work cross-functionally with compliance, risk, and financial teams.
• Assist the wider actuarial team on various initiatives as required.

About You

• Qualified (or nearly qualified) actuary with 5+ years’ experience in the London insurance market, ideally with Lloyd’s exposure.
• Strong technical expertise in pricing, with some experience in reserving and capital modelling.
• Comfortable working with MGA binder business and complex insurance lines.
• Proven ability to lead projects, deliver results and defend actuarial judgement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills – able to adapt your approach depending on audience.
• Proficient in Excel, Access, and insurance modelling tools (experience with Remetrica is a plus).
• Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and contributing to strategic decisions.
• Collaborative and proactive team player with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Key Requirements

• Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
• Solid understanding of the Lloyd’s market and its regulatory framework.
• Track record of contributing at a strategic level, including participation in committee-level discussions.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships across underwriting, finance, and compliance functions.
