Principal Animator

Creative Assembly is seeking a Principal Animator for our award-winning Total War series.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Animation Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and set benchmarks for animation style and quality.
  2. Animation Expertise: Create high-quality keyframe and motion capture animations to enhance gameplay.
  3. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work across disciplines to develop new systems and support gameplay mechanics with animations.
  4. Pipeline & Tools: Improve animation workflows, tools, and pipelines for better efficiency and quality.
  5. Outsourcing Management: Oversee outsourced animation processes, ensuring quality, style consistency, and effective communication with vendors.
  6. Mentorship: Provide creative and technical guidance to the internal animation team, fostering growth and excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  1. Thorough knowledge of animation pipelines.
  2. Strong hand-key animation skills for both humans and creatures.
  3. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with experience in cross-discipline collaboration.
  4. In-depth understanding of game development workflows and mechanics.
  5. Experience with motion capture.

Desirable:

  1. Interest in Total War strategy games.
  2. Submission of a showreel link is required for application consideration (links to online drives are not accepted).
