Principal / Associate - Digital Infrastructure Design Engineer

WSP is looking for Principal Engineers and Associates to join our Digital industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We are expanding our Digital Infrastructure Design Capability across all areas and are seeking individuals with enthusiasm for digital technologies and design methodologies. You will lead infrastructure design schemes at discipline and multi-discipline levels, collaborate with the team, lead problem-solving, ensure quality, and engage with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead infrastructure design schemes at both discipline and multi-discipline levels (dependent on grade) using experience in roadside infrastructure design.
  • Collaborate with the team; lead problem-solving efforts; provide support and address gaps as necessary.
  • Be accountable for the quality of outputs, ensuring they meet high expectations.
  • Engage with clients effectively, balance client needs with corporate responsibilities, escalating issues to senior staff when appropriate.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and working towards professional registration with an accredited institute.
  • Domain knowledge in a relevant industry, such as power, communications, electrical, electronics, and highway design.
  • Understanding of roadside infrastructure and design standards.
  • Ability to lead design processes and use design tools.
  • Lead a team in delivering designs or schemes.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines, understanding their basic principles.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with clients and manage their expectations.
  • Ability to undertake the role of lead engineer to successfully take a scheme from inception to handover with the client.
  • Ability to motivate, develop and lead junior members of the team, encouraging individual growth and performance.
  • Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated when undertaking specific tasks with minimal support from peers.
