Join to apply for the Principal / Associate Hydrogeologist role at WSP in the UK & Ireland. This role sits within the Ground & Water team in the UK and focuses on contaminant hydrogeology, data interpretation, risk assessment modelling, and reporting for contaminated land and landfill projects. You will work closely with project managers and Directors, contribute to project delivery, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Managing hydrogeological data and developing conceptual models and interpretation of data.
- Developing and supporting others to develop hydrogeological conceptual models.
- Undertaking / performing project tasks assigned by senior people in the team.
- Reviewing factual and interpretive reports under supervision of the senior team.
- Communicating and liaising effectively with the project team (team members, project managers and directors).
- Technically leading projects and providing leadership and mentoring of more junior staff.
- Applying expertise in contaminant hydrogeology to support projects for contaminated land and landfill.
What we will be looking for
- Hydrogeological skills of managing data and preparing evidence-backed conceptual models (in consultancy or relevant industrial/regulatory settings).
- Demonstrable experience in preparing factual and interpretive reports as a contributing author; where possible, evidence of reporting competency.
- Risk assessment modelling using ConSim, RTM and LandSim.
- Author of expert reports relating to specific hydrogeological issues.
- Chartered with an appropriate professional body.
- A motivated and engaging team player who contributes to the technical and social strength of the team.
- Experience working in environmental consulting and direct experience in contaminant hydrogeology.
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc, MTech or PhD) in hydrogeology or a related discipline.
