Principal Civil Maritime Engineer
Join Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) to play a vital role in shaping maritime infrastructure through transformational programmes for critical UK and international projects.
Location
Positions available in Epsom, Peterborough, Bristol, and Glasgow offices.
Responsibility
- Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
Qualifications
- Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer.
- Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design within the port and maritime environment.
- Knowledge of the civil and structural design of port and maritime infrastructure, supporting port operations, berthing, mooring of vessels and the transit of people and goods.
- Experience with current UK and European design standards, including BS6349.
- Proficiency in the use of and designing with appropriate FEA packages.
Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance and employment offers will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If necessary, clearance will be discussed in the interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
