Principal Consultant - Permitting and Compliance

RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Principal Consultant for Permitting and Compliance based in various locations across the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing advice on and managing/preparing applications for environmental permits, licenses, and approvals from regulatory agencies, including new applications, variations, and surrender of existing permits.
- Advising on and developing environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by clients' environmental permits.
- Overseeing permit monitoring and reporting to UK regulators.
- Discharging pre-operational and permit improvement condition items.
- Responding to technical queries professionally and promptly.
- Applying business development skills to deliver the business plan and secure new work.
- Preparing proposals and building strong client relationships to maintain and develop the client base.
- Ensuring quality control of project outputs according to the approved QA system.
- Organising own workload and assisting junior staff in managing their workloads to meet deadlines.
- Supporting the development of junior staff.
Requirements:
- Experience in preparing permit applications.
- Understanding of UK regulators' permitting guidance and requirements.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, external bodies, and internal teams.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Valid UK driving licence.
