Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer with expertise in temporary works and scaffold design. Based in Watford, you will lead the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions on major civil infrastructure projects. This is a key role requiring both technical depth and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of temporary works and scaffold solutions for major civil infrastructure projects.
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant with relevant standards, and fit for construction sequencing.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate engineering solutions with site constraints and CDM regulations.

What you will need

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards it.
• Proven experience in scaffold and temporary works design, with strong knowledge of TG20:21, SG4:22, BS EN 12811.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g. STAAD Pro, Tekla Tedds).
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, CDM regulations, and site constraints.
