This role is based in Kirkby, England, United Kingdom, with a minimum of 2 days on-site per fortnight and flexible working arrangements. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.

About the Role

Support the development of nuclear C&I design for SSNA, manage interfaces between BAES and third parties, oversee vehicle control solutions, collaborate with engineering managers, deliver engineering plans, guide technical teams, and engage with stakeholders to develop technical solutions based on existing designs.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Background in the nuclear sector with safety-critical environment experience
• Experience designing large-scale C&I systems compliant with standards
• Management of non-functional requirements like EMC and shock
• Proficiency in technical documentation such as I/O schedules and interface control documents
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Science (or equivalent experience)

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of control system architecture and communication protocols (RS-485, PROFIBUS)
• Experience with IEC 61508 – Functional Safety and safety evidence production

The Team and Project

Work with stakeholders on the design of C&I systems for the Royal Navy’s next-generation attack submarine. The team includes engineers, designers, and support staff responsible for over 80 systems, offering relocation support for eligible roles.
