Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power)

This position is based in Coventry with a hybrid work arrangement (1 day on site per week / 1 day every two weeks), depending on business needs.

Salary: Up to £61,500, commensurate with skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions for various design challenges using NX software.
• Apply fundamental design processes, tools, systems, and techniques.
• Develop workflows within NX to convey design intent.
• Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including clients like Capgemini, Siemens, IBM, and SSNA.
• Plan and schedule work to meet deadlines and budget constraints with guidance.
• Seek continuous improvement in processes, tools, and techniques.
• Participate actively in high-risk and complex tasks with support from project leaders.

Qualifications and Experience

• BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent; CEng membership or eligibility.
• Experience across the engineering lifecycle.
• Knowledge in areas such as power system modeling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics.
• Deep understanding of Power System Architecture, Generation, Distribution, and Protection.
• Experience working within industry standards and codes.

The Coventry Team

The team supports the development and analysis of platform power systems, with the Principal Engineer leading the team, managing activities, and developing skills. Relocation packages are available for eligible candidates.
