Job location: Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. This role involves leading tunnelling design on major civils projects and contributing to a global infrastructure team delivering a better world.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver: Act as a Design Lead for elements of a project, liaising directly with clients and the wider design team for day-to-day design development, guided by a Technical Lead / mentor.
  • Provide Expertise: Manage more junior engineers in the design of infrastructure elements.

Qualifications

  • You will ideally be educated to degree level in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering, and/or have MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical/Tunnelling Engineering, with/working towards a professional membership.
  • You will have broad experience as a designer in Reinforced Concrete to Eurocodes in relation to underground structures such as secant piles, capping beams, segmental shaft linings, in situ concrete structural elements, D-Walls, shafts and tunnels.
  • A Civil or Structural Engineer with good familiarity of Geotechnical Engineering principles as they apply to soil-structure interaction.
