Overview

As a Principal ICA Engineer, you will play a vital role in every aspect of instrumentation and control/automation engineering on transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure. You will have opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad across sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, and Education.

Your Role

• Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high‑quality levels.
• Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
• Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

About You

• Chartered Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer.
• Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• Sound knowledge of ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&I D’s, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules, and system requirements within process/industrial environment.
• Proficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages, following applicable standards, working practices and national guidance.

Security Clearance
