Principal Legal Counsel - Litigation

Bromford Flagship is seeking a Principal Legal Counsel to lead and manage high‑quality legal services across litigation, commercial contracts, and operational matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory matters.
  • Advise on commercial contracts, procurement, and operational projects.
  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior leaders, ensuring decisions are legally robust and commercially sound.
  • Supervise and develop junior lawyers and legal specialists.
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisors to ensure efficiency and value for money.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in legal processes.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor or legal executive with significant post‑qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation, commercial contracts, and operational legal, ideally within social housing or the public sector.
  • Experience leading complex legal matters and managing legal risk.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong IT skills and a proactive approach to innovation and process improvement.
  • Ability to complete a basic DBS and consumer checks.

This is a permanent, full‑ role with flexibility built in. The role is based at one of our main offices in Bristol, Tewkesbury, or Norwich, with some travel across our geography and the option to work from home regularly.
