Job Description

Join our dynamic Nature team to deliver marine ecological expertise across national and international projects. You will work with marine and aquatic ecologists, marine EIA specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to support the growth of our high‑profile marine portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical marine ecological and marine consenting advice, internally and externally, and direct inputs to a wide range of workstreams.
  • Deliver marine ecology impact assessments, including ES chapters and supporting licence and permitting applications.
  • Ensure deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with rigorous quality management procedures.
  • Collaborate with specialists in underwater acoustics, coastal processes, water science, marine archaeology and EIA colleagues.
  • Contribute to business development: develop technical and fee proposals, marketing, and client liaison.
  • Manage projects effectively: resources, budgets, progress reporting, and procurement of specialist subcontractors.
  • Mentor and develop marine ecology team members.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive marine ecological expertise with demonstrable experience in EIA, HRA, MCZ, WFD and related assessments.
  • Detailed understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes across the UK and experience liaising with regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and apply advanced scientific practices to diverse marine projects.
  • Team coordination experience, including line management and mentorship of junior members.
  • Business development experience, including preparing tenders and client presentations.
