We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle, helping deliver the energy transition globally.Overview Of The RoleDue to growth, we are looking for Principal Piping Engineers to join our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division. Our team works on projects for defence and nuclear new-build and offers opportunities to work on exciting projects. This role combines technical leadership with strategic project responsibilities, providing opportunity for career growth. You will influence major projects while mentoring and inspiring junior engineers.Key Responsibilities And Duties IncludeOperate as a senior design co-ordinator, leading and managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex projectsDeliver detailed design reports, specifications, and component datasheets to high quality standardsOversee engineering calculations and drawings, ensuring accuracy and approvalGuide mechanical designers on plant layout and component specifications, ensuring design integrity and complianceAct as primary liaison between engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors, maintaining relationships and client satisfactionLead and chair internal and external design co-ordination meetingsProvide strategic procurement and construction support to ensure smooth project deliveryManage project documentation in line with corporate standards and best practicesOffer expert advice on mechanical engineering matters to internal teams and external clientsMentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers to build team capabilityEnsure alignment with health, safety, environmental, and quality standardsTravel within the UK or abroad may be required to support projects and client needsCandidate specificationEssentialChartered status with IMechE or other relevant body (or progress toward chartered status)Proven leadership experience delivering engineering design and consultancy servicesSignificant expertise in highly regulated industries (nuclear preferred; Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Rail considered)In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and legislation; track record delivering work packages to clientsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders effectivelyProficiency in MS Office and other relevant software/toolsExperience leading, managing, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teamsSelf-driven and capable of independently managing technical and business mattersNote: Offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.UK ImmigrationMott MacDonald Ltd. is not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK.
