Responsibilities

• Lead and assist on key planning policy projects, including supporting local authority policy and strategy development, coordination and delivery of local plan evidence studies, strategic growth studies, infrastructure strategies and other policy and strategy commissions.
• Provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams.
• Represent the organisation by developing and managing relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders through project work and networking events.
• Share technical knowledge and ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.
• Ensure projects are delivered on budget and within programme timelines; coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for seamless project execution.
• Oversee the deliverables produced by the planning policy team and uphold quality assurance and health and safety principles.
• Contribute to business development by nurturing client relationships and assisting in the preparation of tenders to secure new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional body.
• Significant relevant experience in leading and contributing to planning policy and strategy development in a consultancy or public sector role.
• Strong client and stakeholder relations, with existing relationships with clients and local authorities and a business development mindset.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical reports and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.

Education & Professional Memberships

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, and RTPI membership or equivalent.

Work Model & Requirements

Hybrid work options; work location can be in-office, remote, or client sites. Employment type is Full-time or Part-time to suit individual circumstances. Location flexibility includes London and other UK locations listed in the role.
