At Pick Everard, the supply, management, and disposal of water are at the core of what we do. We are proud to have a vast pipeline of work for clients including Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Yorkshire Water, and the Government of Jersey. We also work closely with contractors supporting the development of designs in a collaborative environment.
To meet our growing business needs and future development aspirations, we are looking to appoint an exceptional Principal Civil Engineer. You will work on wastewater, clean water infrastructure, and Better Rivers projects as part of our experienced teams in Manchester and Leeds.

Core Responsibilities
- Creating designs from feasibility through to construction and leading the technical design of projects of varying size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and multi-disciplinary.
- Supporting the appraisal and design of structures and solutions for pumping stations, sewerage, and clean water networks, surface water management, blue and green infrastructure, and detention tanks.
- Mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their development.
- Representing the firm at client meetings and contributing to winning new work.
- Supporting project and team management and contributing innovative ideas for affordable, sustainable, and low-carbon solutions for clients.
About You
The ideal candidate must have:
- A degree or equivalent in civil engineering, working towards a professional qualification.
- CEng with post-chartered relevant experience or IEng with post-incorporated relevant experience working in wastewater.
- Experience managing wastewater and/or clean water infrastructure schemes.
- Good knowledge of industry design software packages.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented, positive attitude.
- Broad-based technical appreciation and report writing skills.
- Experience with different contract types and client interaction.
- Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to lead sub-teams.
