Principal/Senior HV Plant Design Engineer (Substation Design)

Opportunity
We are seeking a Principal/Senior HV Plant Engineer to join our Energy team. This role involves working on a wide variety of projects such as HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes.

Responsibilities
• Work as part of the HV team on electrical substation design projects.
• Support and lead FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new‑build projects.
• Collaborate closely with other disciplines and clients across the UK.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions for industry‑wide efficiency and environmental challenges.

Qualifications
• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer.
• Design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems.
• Understanding of P&C aspects is preferable.
• Pro‑active individual with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
