If you’re a senior private client solicitor looking for more influence, autonomy, and the chance to shape the future of a growing team, this is the role for you.

You’ll join the Birmingham-based Private Wealth team at a national firm with an established reputation for excellence. This is a Principal Associate opportunity with genuine long-term potential, not just to lead, but to help innovate and grow a team in a department that values honest communication and collaboration above all else.

In your first six months, you’ll build trust with the team, handle high-quality cases confidently, and start to mentor junior lawyers. Within a year, you’ll take on more complex work, contribute to department strategy, and become a go-to right-hand for the Head of Department. By year two, you’ll be fully embedded, playing a key role in shaping the direction and culture of the team.

Who we’re looking for

5+ years’ PQE as a qualified solicitor
Strong experience with HNW and UHNW clients
Excellent technical knowledge of wills, trusts, estate and tax planning
Confident, well-spoken, and professional communicator
Self-aware and emotionally intelligent leader
Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
Business development skills or interest in contributing to strategic growth

What you’ll be doing

Managing your own high-value private client caseload
Working closely with the current leadership team
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Handling complex and often sensitive client matters with professionalism and care
Contributing ideas and energy to help shape team operations and culture

Salary & Benefits

Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays, with an additional holiday for birthday
