Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and ensuring compliance with HMRC and in-house deadlines
  • Preparing and processing tax returns and P11Ds from information provided
  • Calculation and advice of liabilities, together with due dates of payment to client
  • Assisting with client queries and providing ad hoc advice where requested
  • Billing personal portfolio clients after work completed
  • Dealing with correspondence, telephone calls and arranging and attending meetings with clients and potential clients
  • Assisting partners and staff members with technical queries
  • Providing assistance to junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports in relation to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries
  • General support to the tax team as required

Profile / Qualifications

  • A strong foundation in private client tax, with relevant professional qualifications (ATT etc.)
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice setting
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively to clients
  • Experience of preparing accounts is desirable
