Private Client Tax Services, Associate Director

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Private Client Tax Services team in Cambridge. You will be joining a dynamic team with a diverse and impressive portfolio of clients, many with complex and interesting affairs. Known for its Landed Estates and rural businesses specialism the team act as truly trusted advisers for a number of notable families.

What will you be doing?

As an Associate Director your responsibilities will include among others

  • You will work with a varied portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs, HNWIs, agricultural clients, entrepreneurs, Partnerships and Trusts.
  • You will assist Partners and Directors with, and when suitable, take the lead on tax planning initiatives like succession planning through trusts and corporate structures, as well as addressing capital gains and inheritance tax concerns.
  • Liaising with other service lines to deliver work to clients, for example: Accounts & Corporate Tax work.
  • Oversee compliance and fundamental advisory tasks completed by junior staff members.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and supporting senior members of the team to identify opportunities for new work.
  • Developing the more junior team including providing timely feedback and assisting them with technical and personal development

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • You will have significant experience gained within another professional services firm and will have a sound knowledge and understanding of a variety of private client tax issues. Preferably experience working with rural clients and landed estates.
  • You will have proven technical knowledge and capability to communicate complex messages to your client base with the ability to ask the right questions.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in tax planning/advisory projects as well as managing complex compliance issues.
  • People management and organisational experience
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser - ACA / CTA
