Process Analyst

Overview

The Process Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting customer-focused teams by ensuring cross-team and cross-Directorate processes are well-documented and communicated. This role involves mapping and analysing processes to identify more efficient and effective ways of working, ultimately enhancing the customer experience. The Process Analyst will report directly to the Senior Operational Improvement Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of Directorate-wide policy on process and procedure governance.
  • Develop standard process documentation, including simplified process maps and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and document core processes across the Customer Directorate.
  • Conduct process assessments and analyse data to identify local variations and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define process improvement goals.
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement workshops and brainstorming sessions.
  • Recommend process performance metrics to ensure ongoing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with IT and Directorate colleagues to leverage technology solutions for process automation and optimisation.

Step 2: Telephone Interview
Between: 10th October - 28th October 2025
Candidates who meet the initial criteria will be invited to a friendly, informal telephone interview with the Reed team. This is an opportunity to discuss your experience and gain further insight into the role.

Step 3: Final Stage Interview
Week commencing: 10th November
Successful candidates will attend a 1 stage formal interview with the MaPS team via Microsoft Teams
+ Duration: Approximately 1 hour
+ Format: Competency-based questions and a task
Please note if we cannot decide which is the preferred candidate after 1 interview we will hold a 2nd stage interview

Reserve List
If you are successful at interview, we operate a reserve list where your details will be held for up to 6 months. Should a vacancy come available in that time with the same essential criteria, reserve list candidates will be offered that position with no further assessment required.

Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

Security: Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in process mapping (using a recognised format such as BPMN or Flowcharting) using software such as MS Visio and Miro.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience of using process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean).

Working Arrangements

Flexible Working: MaPS supports a hybrid working approach with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid is voluntary and non-contractual; the head office in Bedford is the contractual place of work. Opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to starting.
