Process Engineering Consultant page is loaded## Process Engineering Consultantremote type: Hybridlocations: Manchester, UKtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR100752Due to an increased level of new clients and projects and our strategy to develop and expand our business, SLR’s Process Engineering team are looking to recruit a new Process Engineer in our Manchester office.This role would suit a candidate who has gained some degree of professional experience post graduation and / or someone who has completed a postgraduate degree, all with a focus on wastewater and solid waste processing. The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to develop their career under the direction of an expert team of engineering professionals and will be supported in working towards gaining Chartered status by joining our approved training scheme. You will help manage a range of projects in the industrial wastewater treatment, solid waste management, waste and recycling industries and will provide input and assistance on a wide range of interesting and challenging projects including new and innovative technologies.The Process Engineering team are part of the Engineering and Design service line, which provides expertise to a range of clients in the industrial , infrastructure, building and mine waste sectors. The majority of support supplied to those clients is within the UK, but there are opportunities to contribute to international projects.**About the role**The role would suit an engineer or environmental scientist, recently graduated with some work experience or a post graduate, with knowledge and experience of wastewater and solid waste treatment methods. Initial workload will be focused around operating wastewater treatment plants in Manchester, with additional work supporting the wider team on other wastewater and waste processing projects. This role will initially be within the part of the team which focusses on industrial wastewater issues, but there will be opportunities to be involved in projects associated with the management, treatment and disposal of other wastes using a variety of technologies.You will work with engineering staff at all levels to help in the delivery of wastewater and water recycling projects within SLR offices and at client offices and sites across the UK and internationally. You will be expected to represent SLR Consulting in an effective and professional manner and will work independently and as part of a team. This may involve travel and lone working at times, possibly outside typical working hours.The successful candidate will also assist SLR staff in other disciplines within SLR, including the Waste and Resources Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups and will develop client relationships to retain and develop new business.As part of the Process Engineering team, you will provide clients with help and assistance at all project stages, including:• Plant Operation, Maintenance and Trouble Shooting • Plant Commissioning and Performance Testing • Technical and Economic Feasibility Studies • Technical Due Diligence Reviews • Front End Engineering and Concept Design Studies • Process Design Review and Optimization • HAZOP/HAZAN Studies • Development and Preparation of Technical Specifications • Preparation of Tender Packages and Tender Evaluation • Technical Training and Instruction (Plant Operators and Managers) • Technical Advisor and Independent Certifier RolesSLR are global leaders in Sustainability Solutions, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals. Due to the travel requirements associated with the role, a full UK driving licence is essential.You will have:• Engineering Degree (Process, Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical) or Environmental Science Degree • Demonstrable work experience in wastewater treatment, waste and recycling • Ability to work independently following logical processes.
