Location: Birmingham, with mandatory travel to Oldbury 3 times per week. Hybrid working arrangement.

Salary: £65,000 – £82,000 per year. Days of Work: Monday to Friday. Hours: 09:00 – 17:00.

Responsibilities

  1. GNFR Procurement Category Management – Provide category leadership and procurement best practice across relevant category area(s). Implement and maintain end-to-end management of supplier decisions, sourcing, negotiation strategy, financial analysis, contracting, ongoing supplier management and business performance improvement. Collaborate with Geopost functions and subsidiaries to create value and optimize enterprise-wide benefits.
  2. Key Accountabilities – Category Strategy – Define, develop and deliver short, medium and long-term procurement category strategies aligned to stakeholder and business needs. Develop multi-year sourcing pipelines, drive cost savings targets, execute sourcing activities (RFI/RFP, pricing models, implementation), influence stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally. Build relationships with operations and finance, contribute to budgets and represent Procurement in Geopost European sourcing initiatives where required.
  3. Contract Management and Supplier Performance – Manage strategic suppliers for organizational gain, ensuring service performance aligns with contract commitments, KPIs and SLAs. Implement supplier segmentation, renegotiate legacy agreements where advantageous, present ideas to senior stakeholders and benchmark portfolios.
  4. Procurement Compliance – Maintain category spend taxonomy and contract databases, work with Legal to ensure robust contracts, drive policy compliance, perform market analysis for decision making and audits, integrate sustainability and innovation into supplier awards, and collaborate with Quality, Risk and Operations to improve service quality.

Qualifications

  • Degree level in Business or Economics (desirable).
  • MCIPS or working towards MCIPS (desirable).
  • Experience sourcing GNFR goods/services (cross-category), ideally in the Logistics sector.
  • Advanced commercial negotiation skills (e.g., GAP Negotiation).
  • Proactive relationship building, networking and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Track record in achieving significant savings and communicating ideas to senior management.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvement.
  • Leadership, planning, project management and legal contracting awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong numeracy and ability to perform total cost of ownership analysis.
  • IT literacy (PowerPoint and Excel); strong team player and ability to work independently.
  • Prepared to travel.
