The Role

An exciting role in Procurement has arisen for a Procurement Officer. This role will be responsible for assisting with the purchasing of low value goods and services for the CAA Group (CAA, CAA International and Air Safety Support International) to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, considering terms and conditions, price, quality, delivery, and supply. This is a diverse role and will involve a variety of low value purchases, contact with suppliers, advising internal business colleagues on the best approach to buying in line with CAAs Procurement Policy as well as administering the central email inbox, Procurement SharePoint site, Contracts Database and Dashboard. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support other team members in larger spend projects.

Training will take place at Gatwick therefore there is a requirement to be more office based in the first couple of months thereafter, we would require weekly attendance to the Gatwick office (at least 1 day a week) with flexibility to attend other meetings as required by the business.

Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential as there will be high level interactions with CAA Colleagues.

Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.

Relocation & Property

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
