Delivery focused Product Manager-B2B SaaS
About the Company
Biotech B2B SaaS start-up based in London, focused on delivering innovative software solutions in scientific and data-driven industries. The team is collaborative, agile, and committed to helping clients solve complex business challenges through technology.
Role Overview
The Product Manager will plug into a high-energy startup environment for three months, starting 15th September, with a core focus on delivery and backlog management. This is not a strategic or roadmap-driven position. The successful candidate will prioritize efficient execution, backlog clarity, and supporting engineering and design teams to deliver features already scoped.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with engineering, UX, and UI teams to manage the product backlog and ensure seamless ticket flow in Jira.
- Sort, prioritize, and clarify Jira tickets so developers can deliver features quickly and correctly.
- Support designers and engineers in translating requirements into actionable tasks.
- Run agile sprints, daily standups, and delivery coordination, making sure blockers are removed fast.
- Ensure all work aligns with the pre-set product roadmap and success metrics designated by the fractional CPO and leadership.
- Own communication with stakeholders, maintain progress tracking, and deliver on targets with minimal fuss.
- Listen empathetically to team members, turn feedback into practical delivery actions, and keep momentum strong.
- Adapt to ambiguity in a busy startup culture, supporting the team to hit deadlines and keep projects moving.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years experience in product management or delivery, ideally with B2B SaaS, bioinformatics, science, or technical teams. B2B SaaS experience will be prioritised.
- Hands-on backlog management, agile sprint delivery, Jira ticketing, and scrum master experience.
- Track record in working with UX and UI designers as well as technical engineering groups.
- Clear communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to gain trust and get teams working.
- Must have own Limited company (outside IR35).
- Immediate availability to start mid-September.
- Three-month contract with potential for extension (not guaranteed).
- Day rate: up to £420, based on experience and qualifications.
- Hybrid working (2-3 days per week on-site, rest remote).
- Exposure to scientific, data-driven tech, exciting projects, and fractional CPO mentorship.
- Supportive startup culture, opportunity for career contractors in delivery or scrum to step deeper into product management. (you must understand the difference and have some sort of product experience whether just a couple of projects or working really closely to understand the differences.)
Ideal Candidate
Empathetic, proactive, and focused on helping teams succeed without disrupting pre-set plans. Loves delivery, shows maturity and flexibility, and knows how to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous start-up environments. Not motivated by strategy or big change, but by getting quality work shipped and keeping teams moving.
