Safran is an international high- technology group operating in the aerospace, space and defense sectors. Safran Seats is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft seats for crew and passengers. In the UK, Safran Seats specialises in First Class and Business Class seating for wide body aircraft, with engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England. The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the manufacturing team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to deliver products to an agreed schedule and within defined costs.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the manufacture and/or delivery of product to customer requirements.
• Plan resources to meet production output.
• Coordinate production loading plans with cross-functional Managers.
• Identify and address training needs to maintain quality output in accordance with the Quality Procedures.
• Promote a Lean environment.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Company.
• Accurately report on KPIs.
• Monitor and report on budgets and targets.
• Implement working practices to reduce health and safety risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
• To become the lead, mentor and developer within the team.

Candidate skills / Qualifications

• Supervisory / Management experience.
• Sound knowledge of lean and problem solving tools.
• Previous experience of leading a team within a high density business.
• Demonstrable experience of driving a culture of lean and continuous improvement.
• Familiar with Microsoft packages.
• Familiarity with BaaN or associated software.
• Change Management experience.
• Risk Management experience.
