The Role

Professional Negligence Solicitor - Manchester - Up to £65,000 salary

An excellent in-house opportunity has arisen for a Professional Negligence Solicitor to join a Legal 500 ranked team based in Manchester. This specialist role sits within the legal division of a well-established and respected insurer, offering high-quality work without the pressures of traditional private practice.

The team handles a broad range of professional indemnity matters, including claims against construction professionals, accountants, IT specialists, and care sector providers. Work includes complex liability disputes, policy coverage analysis, and defending claims ranging from small losses to multi‑million actions. You’ll also have the chance to advise on high‑profile coverage issues and contribute to a growing subrogated recovery practice.

The Candidate

• 1-5 years’ post‑qualification experience in professional indemnity
• Experience and interest in arbitration
• Commercially aware with an interest in business development
• Ability to work as part of team and using own initiative
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and enthusiasm for high‑profile, challenging disputes
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
