We're recruiting for a Sourcing Manager with knowledge and experience of Professional Services. We're offering a competitive base salary and a strong benefits package.

Our Group Procurement team launched a 3-year transformation strategy in 2023 and secured investment in people and systems to deliver the vision of creating a Procurement Centre of Excellence for Legal and General.

We are embedding category management and innovative sourcing strategies and partnering with stakeholders to become a strategic enabler for the business.

The Professional Services team is a key component of the transformation activity taking place across L&G. We are looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our team, who brings experience and knowledge, who can work flexibly, and who prioritise engagement and collaboration with our L&G colleagues to ensure great business partnering and to deliver the best outcomes.

A typical working week is two days in an office (Hove or London) and three days at home, with occasional travel to our office in Cardiff and supplier sites.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Professional Services procurement/sourcing engagements across Advisory & Consultancy, Change, Digital and Tech Consultancy, Finance and Risk categories
  • Lead and conduct Professional Services sourcing activities and negotiations for renewals, in-life negotiations and new supplier engagements ensuring relevant control and governance requirements are met, as demand dictates
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive strategic procurement initiatives
  • Support monitoring of adherence to established contracts and realisation of savings, collaborating with contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) teams as required
  • Actively identify and lead opportunities to drive value and improve performance of potential supply base while seeking to reduce cost and risk and improve performance and value.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies
  • Ensuring all contracting and commitment to spend is undertaken and governed in accordance with compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools
  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members
  • Participating in the transformation and optimisation of supply spend

Qualifications

  • An in-depth knowledge of Professional Services categories and either category management or sourcing execution and using procurement technology
  • A good knowledge of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks, understanding of spend categories, financial models, regulatory landscape, and impact on commercial agreements. A working knowledge of Master Services Agreements is essential
  • A solid knowledge of tools and techniques to execute strategic sourcing (e.g., RFI and RFP processes, spend analytics, e-RFQ tools, etc.)
  • Someone who adaptable, with a willingness to learn, and a drive for continuous improvement
