The role
Our hardworking highly qualified Legal team currently has an opportunity for Programme Lawyer to join on a part-time basis. This role will be shared with another more senior colleague so could offer a significant development opportunity for someone who is looking for something a little more ambitious on a part-time basis. - Draft responses to programme regulatory complaints
- Conduct proactive compliance risk and issue management
- Input compliance data on approved broadcast and compliance systems
- Contribute to compliance process continuous improvement

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- A proven understanding of defamation, contempt, privacy, and copyright law
- Familiarity with regulatory Codes and how they apply in real-world production settings
- A positive, solution-focused approach and a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed
- A talent for finding constructive, creative solutions to legal and compliance challenges
- Strong social skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams – including producers, Compliance, and wider ITV business contacts
- Confidence in offering clear, concise legal advice, often under tight time constraints
- The ability to balance a diverse and full workload across a wide range of content – from network documentaries and entertainment to reality TV and regional news
- Excellent judgment and the ability to assess legal and reputational risks with care and balance
- A true teammate who enjoys working in an encouraging, collegiate environment
- Calm under pressure, with tried experience handling shifting priorities optimally
- Excellent communicator, both in writing and face-to-face
Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
