As a Project Architect at HDR, you will work on projects across various sectors, focusing on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors across our Global Practice, with a focus on the United Kingdom and European regions.
In the role of Project Architect for Data Centres/Mission Critical, responsibilities include:
- Applying technical design concepts, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows
- Performing layout and detailing on architectural projects
- Conducting owner/client and internal meetings, participating in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
- Managing and undertaking design activities and producing design information
- Conducting work sessions at project sites with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Reviewing architectural documents for conflicts with other disciplines
- Performing QA/QC and technical reviews
- Writing and editing architectural specifications
- Coordinating with affected disciplines regarding addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
- Incorporating approved changes into project documents
- Providing construction contract administration as needed
- Performing other duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field
- Registered Architect (ARB Registered Architect)
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes
- Experience in preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
- Understanding of various building contracts
- Knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Data Centre/Mission Critical projects
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage workloads efficiently
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3D Studio Max (not required)
- Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper

Additional Requirements
