The role

As the Project Assurance Manager you will play a key role in the Major Programme & Capital Reporting team and will take the lead on an effective project assurance service and develop ways of workings for capital projects. The role will also be the risk coordinator for the Major Programmes Directorate. You will be accountable for developing & managing the project assurance plan and ensuring that the key stakeholders have accepted the scope of the assurance to be undertaken. You will be responsible for carrying out project audits and reporting on the progress of the actions at the relevant governance boards. Regular engagement with Group Risk & Internal Audit is also key to this role, to share progress against the 2nd line assurance being undertaken.

What will make you successful in the role?

The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level or equivalent, with 5 years+ experience in a construction or civil engineering environment and a proven track record in risk management & project assurance. You will be commercially astute with a good working knowledge of project delivery ways of working and knowledge and/or experience of project controls tools would be beneficial (schedule, cost, risk etc.). You will be a good communicator, with experience of working in a multi-stakeholder, fast paced environment. A good attention to detail and analytical thinking will also be beneficial to this role.
