THE COMMON GROUND PROJECT
The Common Ground project is a European Funded project under PEACEPLUS that focuses on promoting peace and reconciliation across/between NI/ROI communities including new and minority communities. PEACEPLUS is an EU funded programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)
The project is focussed on creating inclusive, engaged communities through a social housing and neighbourhood lens, utilising the Housing Sector as a ‘community anchor’, building on existing networks, infrastructure, capacity and resources to deliver strong community interventions over a 36-month period.
The core purpose of the Common Ground Project is to develop and successfully deliver community integration and relationship building plans, initiatives, training and programmes. Common Ground will work towards supporting stronger, safer and more stable communities through the promotion of understanding, mutual respect and community participation.
The Partners on the project are:
- Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (Lead Partner)
- Irish Council for Social Housing
- Apex Housing Association
- Choice Housing Association
- Rural Housing Association
- Woven Housing Association
Job Purpose:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and management of the project and project team of 9 staff across NI and across the ROI Border region and for planning and managing the work of project staff.
The Project Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of “The Common Ground Project” – a PEACEPLUS funded project
Key Objectives for the Project Coordinator
The role of Project Coordinator is a pivotal role within the Common Ground project. The Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations’ (NIFHA) is the lead partner of the project with seven delivery partners working within communities “on the ground” across NI and the 6 Border Counties of Rep of Ireland.
The key objectives are:
- Deliver and manage the Common Ground project including all measureable targets
- Ensure all aspects of the project have cross community and cross border elements
- Manage a team of 9 staff (2 within NIFHA and 7 project staff employed by the project partners)
- Liaise with project partners on work planning and staff performance
- Report on key deliverables
- Budget management
- Provide reports and communications to the Project Governance and management structure, as required and in a timely fashion.
