Your New Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll lead the development and delivery of BMS packages across heating-led building services retrofit projects. You will assess the existing setup of a building and know what needs to be done to upgrade its control systems. Your role will involve developing control philosophies, writing functional design specs, and managing the delivery through trusted subcontractors. You will be leading the entire BMS scope, from technical documentation to on-site commissioning support. You’ll be managing challenging retrofit scenarios, including bivalent systems combining heat pumps and gas boilers, and delivering them into live environments. You’ll also support system commissioning and troubleshoot where necessary, working closely with in-house delivery teams and supply chain partners.

Your Background

You’ll come from a hands-on BMS or building services background likely having come up through the tools and now operating in a position where you’re managing delivery, writing scopes, and taking ownership of retrofit energy controls. Experience with heating systems is essential, and familiarity with common BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, or others is a big plus. You’ll be confident managing subcontractors, producing documentation, and supporting delivery teams through to handover.
