Project Engineer - Seat Belt Systems

Expleo is recruiting a Project Engineer - Seat Belt Systems to support the design, development, testing, and delivery of innovative safety components for a leading automotive client in Warwickshire. This is a 12-month contract role, ideal for a dynamic engineer passionate about vehicle safety and system integration. Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and integration of seat belt systems across vehicle programmes. Coordinate cross-functional teams and report to Chapter Leaders and Programme Technical Leads. Manage component and sub-system test plans, ensuring timely design verification and issue resolution. Maintain engineering documentation including WERS and support Agile delivery through ABR/PI aspirations. Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and suppliers. Apply Failure Mode Avoidance techniques to meet cost, weight, quality, and performance targets.
Required Skills & Experience
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven track record in automotive engineering project management. Experience in Body Engineering, Safety Components, or Restraint Systems. Knowledge of seat belt or airbag dynamic performance and related standards. Familiarity with product creation, change control, and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence). Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Attributes
Experience with DFMEA and DRBFM. Knowledge of vehicle-level safety requirements. Completion of at least one full development cycle on safety components. Resilient, enthusiastic, and results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Passionate about automotive innovation and customer-focused solutions.
