Role purpose: The Project Engineer takes ownership of the technical delivery of AV projects and the engineering team assigned to them. Key responsibilities:Work with the project manager and provide technical oversight of a project from conception through installation and completion.Work closely with Project Managers to ensure that engineering components align with project goals.Reviewing and refining Bills of Material.Address any differing perspectives to avoid project delays and ensure successful project completion.Provide technical ownership from project start through installation and completion.Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, elevation drawings (Using Visio and or AutoCAD), AV line schematics (Using Visio, Auto-CAD or Stardraw), signal flow, & rack layout drawings.Review, amend and update project design, drawings.Attend client sites to conduct technical site surveys.Create a cable and consumables lists for each project to ensure everything required for a successful install is included and available to the installation team.To assist the project manager to complete the scope of works for the project.Communicate AV pre req requirements to Client's Network teams.Determine special requirements for projects, including personnel, equipment, cables and consumables, specialised tools, lifting equipment/scaffold.Communicate System implementation plans to Project managers and installation teams.Attend site meetings and liaise with building contractors to Communicate Infrastructure and architectural requirements to construction teams.First point of escalation for onsite engineering during the project.Responsible for ensuring allocated technical staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the required solution.Meet with current and prospective vendors to evaluate products.Plan effectively and manage tasks in a time-constrained environment.Operate and manage in accordance with all company rules and policies. Strong communication and interaction skills with internal employees, clients, and colleagues.Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to maintain knowledge.Coordinate with other teams and various stakeholders, requiring strong interpersonal skills.Knowledge of risk management, quality control, and safety regulations is mandatory.Ability to diagnose complex system problems and work independently to meet deadlines.Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio is required.Knowledge of Stardraw is required.
