Suffolk County Council
Address: Endeavour House, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX / Hybrid working
Salary: £40,777 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available
Contract: Fixed term or Secondment up to 12 months (maternity cover)

Your Role And Responsibilities

As our new Project Lead, you’ll play a vital role in supporting two key boards: the Health and Wellbeing Board and the Collaborative Communities Board.

You will be:

leading the Local Welfare Assistance Scheme, ensuring timely application reviews and reporting
managing data analysis and reporting to the Department for Work and Pensions and central government
line managing a team of up to six, supporting their development and wellbeing
collaborating with partners across Suffolk, including district and borough councils, and the voluntary sector
contributing to strategic initiatives tackling poverty, food instability, and community resilience.

You will need:

strong project management and line management experience
confidence in data reporting and analysis
ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
experience working with government funding and budget oversight
excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
a flexible, forward-thinking mindset and a passion for making a difference.

We typically work from the office on Wednesdays, with flexibility for a second day based on team needs.

The successful candidate will have oversight and responsibility for multiple large funding pots. In what capacity have you managed budgets or funding streams before? Please detail approximate figures and how you ensured accountability and transparency.

The successful candidate will work with multiple stakeholders on various projects. Tell us about a time you worked with multiple partners to achieve a shared goal. What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
