About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Knutsford.
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager with proven experience delivering projects in the corporate banking sector. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives across key products and services, including commercial lending, cash management, trade finance, and treasury solutions.
As a Project Manager, you will work at the heart of business and technology transformation—bridging strategy and execution to help drive innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across the bank’s core service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within the corporate banking space, ensuring outcomes align with business goals, timelines, and budgets
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, resource forecasts, risk logs, and status updates
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, testers, operations, compliance, and third-party vendors
- Ensure all project deliverables meet regulatory, operational, and business requirements
- Facilitate effective project meetings, tracking actions and decisions to maintain progress and accountability
- Identify and manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation plans and escalating where appropriate
- Report regularly to senior stakeholders and governance bodies on progress, risks, and key decisions
About You
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within banking or financial services
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking products and services, such as Commercial lending, Cash management, Payments, Trade finance, Treasury
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery teams and manage diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, Confluence, or similar platforms is a plus
