The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water's region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
The role is hybrid and will be required to attend the Peterborough office 1-2 days per week, with the remaining days working from partner office or home.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive land compensation budgets across all relevant SPA project areas, utilising existing property cost estimate data, provided by SPA Land Agents.
- Monitor and track budget performance, ensuring alignment with SPA commercial targets, delivery/construction timelines and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and prepare regular land budget reports and dashboards for project teams, including Commercial teams, Senior leadership team, Senior Project Managers (SPM) and internal stakeholders, highlighting key land related cost insights and recommendations.
- Design and implement structured reporting to capture, track, and analyse land related costs across all project phases, from early ground investigations, through to handing the land back to impacted landowners.
- Identify and assess commercial risks associated with land compensation agreements, acquisitions, and settlements to analyse cost data and trends to identify variances, risks, and opportunities for cost efficiencies.
- Monitor and report on compensation expenditure, identifying cost saving opportunities and risks to budget forecasts.
- Maintain knowledge in the industry and discuss latest applicable innovations and ideas with relevant peers within the Business.
- Work collaboratively with the project Land team and Land Agents to develop robust understanding of compensation principles, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure you are compliant with the use of mandatory safety monitoring equipment, near miss reporting and compliance with the company procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Proven technical experience in water / wastewater environment
- Knowledge of H&S & CDM regulations

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- IOSH qualification
- APMP Qualification or equivalent
