Be part of building Scotland’s future
Scottish Enterprise is Scotland’s main economic development agency, committed to growing the economy for the benefit of all.
We’re here to help create more quality jobs and build a brighter future for every region.
Join us as an Project Manager in our Property and Growth Infrastructure team and help shape and deliver projects with the power to transform local economies across Scotland.
The role
We’re looking for a project manager to join our Property and Growth Infrastructure team and support a wide range of property and infrastructure projects across Scotland.
You’ll help deliver everything from feasibility studies and masterplans to strategic asset management and innovative funding deals. You’ll also play a key role in procurement, leading exercises that support the successful development and delivery of major projects.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Applying your knowledge of project management, infrastructure and property – along with commercial insight – to support the development and delivery of high-impact projects that are aligned with our wider strategy.
- Helping to shape infrastructure projects from early-stage planning through to delivery. This will include writing business cases and consultant briefs, procuring and managing contractors, supporting senior project managers, and coordinating legal and procurement input where needed.
- Working closely with partners, stakeholders, and investors to build strong relationships, offering advice, and influencing how both internally and externally led projects are developed. You’ll take time to understand partner priorities and how they contribute to shared goals.
Who we're looking for
You’re enthusiastic, curious, and interested in property, infrastructure, or construction project management. You’re confident working on your own or as part of a team, and are able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.
You’ll bring strong written and verbal communication skills, and you’re comfortable working in partnership with others. Ideally, you’ve had experience influencing decisions and building consensus.
You’re delivery-focused, flexible in your approach, and ready to collaborate with public and private sector partners, including those in new or unfamiliar industries, to help drive forward our mission and strategic priorities.
Skills and experience required
Your skills, abilities and experience should include:
- Project management skills, ideally with some understanding of property or infrastructure work
- Experience of collaborative working and building relationships with partners or stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and organise tasks effectively (with guidance from a senior project manager or team leader)
- A qualification at SCQF Level 8 in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience
- Confident using digital tools, including online platforms for project and document management
- Willingness to travel when needed
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience delivering or supporting property and infrastructure interventions
- Knowledge of NEC4 or other standard construction contracts used in project delivery
- An understanding of how place-based economic development supports long-term growth
- A full driving licence and access to a private car
- Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com
