Project Manager (Retrofit)PermanentAbout the roleThe GMCA has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Retrofit) to join its award‑winning Retrofit Team in the Environment Directorate.The role will support a team delivering over £100m of housing retrofit measures to help meet the targets in the Greater Manchester 5‑year Environment Plan and Retrofit Action Plan, aiming to make Greater Manchester carbon neutral by 2038.A key focus of the role will be to manage the delivery of retrofit funding included in GMCA’s Integrated Settlement. This includes the Warm Homes: Local Grant and the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund. The role also includes the line management of Resident Engagement Officers, Technical Officers, and Project Officers.The energy efficiency improvements and low‑carbon heating systems installed through these schemes will result in homes that are cheaper to heat, more comfortable to live in, and have less impact on the environment.About youExperience delivering national housing retrofit schemes such as Energy Company Obligation (ECO4), Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery (GHG LAD), Home Upgrade Grant (HUG), or Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).Line management experience, including staff who may be working remotely and on site.A commitment to partnership working, working closely with government departments, local authorities, registered providers of social housing, contractors, and a wide range of local partners.Passion for tackling climate change and fuel poverty.Knowledge of low‑carbon housing retrofit, the delivery of complex grant programmes, and the requirements of central government, local authorities, and social housing providers.A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 would be highly desirable.About usThe Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is a key Greater Manchester strategic function.
