We are seeking a qualified Project Manager, Supply Chain with transformational change project delivery experience. If you have a proven track record in Business transformations, working in a matrix organisation, and are ready to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you! You'll bring your expertise in hands-on project management as well as influencing globally dispersed stakeholder groups to make things happen and focus our teams on delivering brilliantly. This is a hybrid role based in London, Manchester, or Corby, with some travel required to support projects across the group.
The role:
Supply Chain has an ambitious 5-year strategy to transform our operations and enhance the service we deliver for our customers and suppliers. This strategy is aligned with the wider group strategy and supported by a complex roadmap of initiatives: The Supply Chain & ERP Programme. Reporting to the Head of Delivery - Supply Chain, you will be responsible for delivering projects supporting the Supply Chain strategy and the Group’s change agenda through managing end-to-end, global, multi-functional initiatives within the Supply Chain Programme. You will deliver change and achieve business outcomes across multiple functions and geographies. While there is no direct line management, you will matrix-manage large teams across different functions and regions to realize benefits. This role also includes responsibility for the project budget.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing end-to-end projects (planning, delivery, monitoring, control, closure) focused on business change, ensuring delivery within scope, time, cost, quality, and benefits.
- Leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams, motivating team members, and balancing project demands with BAU commitments.
- Translating project definitions into workable plans with an agreed budget; managing the budget throughout the project lifecycle.
- Applying appropriate governance, planning quality reviews, and ensuring deliverables meet standards on time, with corrective actions addressed.
- Developing resource plans and working with Resource Managers to implement them.
- Creating detailed cost/benefit analyses, benefits realization plans, and investment proposals.
- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into project management software.
- Facilitating trade-off decisions between quality, costs, scope, and time; managing significant changes through change management processes.
- Engaging with the Portfolio to ensure success and achievement of commercial goals; providing regular updates and escalating issues.
- Managing inter-project dependencies, ensuring visibility, and resolving issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Managing risks and issues, analyzing and mitigating or escalating as needed.
- Engaging fully with project sponsors and business owners, influencing stakeholder expectations, and providing regular communication.
- Managing external delivery partners and contractors as required.
- Implementing vendor engagement plans in collaboration with Procurement, ensuring compliance with policies.
About you:
- Proven project management experience leading multiple projects and stakeholders, delivering business change with tangible outcomes and benefits.
- Experience in relevant environments (Digital, Supply Chain, Distribution, Finance, Infrastructure).
- Familiarity with various delivery methodologies (waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
- Strong change management skills and experience with formal change methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation skills, capable of motivating and managing people at all levels.
- Experience in software delivery environments.
- Ability to challenge constructively, build credibility, and work with integrity.
- Significant experience leading complex change or transformation projects, especially around global ERP processes.
- Understanding of GPO structures and broad stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of shared service processes and controls, O2C experience desirable.
- Experience with different project methodologies.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead change effectively.
Desirable experience:
- Experience in international project environments.
- Experience in Transport/Logistics.
- Experience negotiating with third parties.
