Project Manager

New Today

Overview

Base pay range: see below. This role is for a Project Manager based in London — 2 days per week in office, flexible.

A leading UK retailer is looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of their modernised data environment and lead a team of analysts and support engineers.

The Company: Having recently completed a large-scale migration from a legacy IBM stack into Azure and Databricks, the business has transformed how it operates with data. Their environment is now dynamic, with evolving requirements and ongoing development. They continue to use Business Objects, with Power BI becoming the standard across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team across BI, analytics, and platform support
  • Own the operational health of the data platform: SLAs, incident management, problem resolution, and vendor oversight
  • Drive continuous improvements—from patching and upgrades to service continuity and automation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and DevOps practices
  • Lead FinOps initiatives: monitor, manage, and optimise platform spend
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards, while enabling innovation
  • Be the bridge between data teams and business stakeholders—ensuring the platform delivers real, measurable value

What You Bring

  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure, Databricks, Power BI, and SQL (Business Objects a bonus)
  • Proven track record leading technical teams in enterprise-scale data environments
  • Strong understanding of service management, with experience managing SLAs, vendors, and spend
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills—you can translate tech into impact
  • Exposure to ITIL/service management frameworks (ideal but not essential)
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset—we want someone who sees both the big picture and the technical details

Why Join?

  • Make a tangible impact by shaping a platform that powers decisions across the business
  • Lead a supportive, high-performing team with autonomy and backing
  • Work on a modern data stack with opportunities to innovate, automate, and scale
  • Engage with stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams
  • Grow your career in a role that blends leadership, architecture, and strategy
