Project Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor operating across a diverse range of sectors, including education, commercial, healthcare, residential, and leisure.
This role will see you taking a key commercial position within the team, with a particular focus on managing schemes under the Department for Education (DfE) framework. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The position offers a balanced mix of office-based duties and regular site visits, providing the variety and exposure needed to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial management of DfE framework schemes
Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and valuations
Monitoring project progress and keeping accurate financial records
Reporting on costs and value engineering opportunities
Working closely with the operational team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
Experience working on education sector projects is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and framework agreements
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as needed
